Wow!
We're beyond chuffed... but it's no biggie, we've ONLY just gone and won a silver medal on our Blackberry Whisky Jam at the World Jam awards this weekend!
As many of you know we started off in a farmhouse kitchen with nothing but a dream, empty jam-jars, Gin & little red berries - (I wonder if you can guess where the name came from!) and almost a decade later we decided to get back to our roots and jump back into the kitchen that we quickly outgrew. Only this time we'd be taking the fruits left-over from our Spirit production!
Lots of people were baffled when we said we were coming out with a Jam, I suppose it's a little bit different when we've stuck at hand-crafting Spirits for so long.
To us it just made total sense. During the production of our award-winning Spirits we use only natural ingredients, and we get our hands on the best produce around.
Once the Spirits were made we were left with the alcohol soaked fruits and no real-use for them but it was just too good to waste.
So thinking caps came our & we set about batches of jams & syrups trying to make a way to make it work & perfecting the recipe with each new jar we made.
We finally settled on the recipe and got it to set (which is an art in itself!) and launched our Jams - each and every batch we've made has sold out quicker than it took to make & label it and the feedback we've received has been amazing!
We love our Jam and so do you lovely lot & it's nice to have an official award to show that we're not biased and it is in fact a world winner (Did I forget to mention that it was judged by Michelin star chefs too!)
We can't get enough of our Jam on both sweet and savoury dishes. We've even dabbled with it shaken & stirred into mocktails & cocktails!
My favourite way to enjoy this is baked onto a wheel of brie, it caramelises the Jam and creates a super creamy, sweet & smoky treat with all the woody whisky notes (make sure you've got a good crusty bread and a glass of our Blackberry whisky to wash it all down with!)
Emily, our ops lead who hand-makes our range, swears by it smothered onto a joint of gammon as it's cooking for a smokey, fruity, sticky & sweet glaze. (My mouth is salivating at the thought!)
How would you try our Jam?
I'd love to know!
